Have you ever wondered if the love you have for your pooch is reciprocated? It’s actually pretty easy to tell if your dog loves you and whether they’re happy to be around you. We’ve put a short list together of the top indications that your pet loves you.

The first and possibly most obvious sign is snuggling, but on their terms. Whether it’s just them leaning into you or fully cuddling, nothing says ‘I love you’ more than a big cuddle. It shows that your dog is very trusting of you if they can comfortably snuggle up and fall asleep with you. It is very important not to force your dog into a cuddle as they may find this very restrictive, which could then lead to them feeling stressed. Some pets just enjoy their own beds, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t love you.

Another clear sign is tail wagging which is generally just a show of excitement from your pooch. For example, when you mention ‘walkies’ or ‘treats’ their typical reaction will be erratic tail wagging immediately followed by zoomies. Your dog will most likely be wagging their tail every time you enter the room, whether you’ve been at work for 8 hours or in another room for 30 seconds. In addition to this, they will likely great you with a gift which is usually one of their favourite toys. This is their way of saying “I’ve missed you lots, now play with me!”.
